Adhyayan collects information you provide when you download, register for, or use the Application or its Services:

• Your name, email address, phone number, and password during registration.
• Transaction-related information when you purchase courses or respond to offers.
• Information you provide when you contact us for help.
• Content you enter into our system — such as test answers, discussion posts, and doubt queries.

Collected data is categorised as Personal Information, Sensitive Personal Information, or Associated Information in accordance with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

We will always give you the option not to provide certain Personal or Sensitive Personal Information. You may also withdraw consent given earlier by writing to us at the contact details below. Please note that withdrawal of consent may limit your access to our Services.

In addition to information you provide, our application may automatically collect:

• Device type, unique device ID, and mobile operating system.
• IP address and mobile browser type.
• Usage patterns within the Application, including features accessed and time spent.

We use outside, PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors (Juspay) to handle billing. These processors do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any purpose beyond the transaction.

We use collected information to:

• Analyse trends and conduct research to improve the Application.
• Personalise your learning experience and content recommendations.
• Administer your account, process purchases, and send course updates.
• Communicate with you about services, promotions, and important notifications.
• Share (in anonymised, aggregate form only) with trusted third-party service providers who assist in delivering our Services.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information to any third party. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, to protect the safety of users, or to investigate fraud or security issues.

Any personal data relating to minors provided by you is deemed to be given with the consent of the minor's legal guardian.

We provide you with clear means to access and update your Personal Information through your profile within the Application. We adopt reasonable security measures to protect your password from unauthorised disclosure.

Adhyayan may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any site they visit outside our platform.

Alerts

We may send you email or SMS notifications about new features, service updates, or offers we believe will be relevant to you.

Public Forums

Content you share in discussion forums, comments, or public areas of the Application is available to all users. Please exercise caution when sharing personal information in public areas of the platform.

We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Access to your data is limited to authorised employees who require it to operate, develop, or improve the Application. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest.

We retain user data while an account is active and for at least three years after account closure. We may extend this period to comply with applicable law or shorten it for storage management purposes, unless otherwise required.

Server logs (browser type, IP address, request data) may be retained for up to 12 months for security and diagnostics.

Adhyayan's AI features — the AI Course Buddy (Adhyayan Buddy) and AI Test Analysis — process your queries through our secure, encrypted backend.

• Chat messages sent to the AI Course Buddy are not stored beyond your active session and are never used to train AI models.
• Test performance data used for AI Analysis is anonymised and processed solely to generate your personalised performance insights.
• No AI conversation data is shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

You may request to disable AI features at any time by contacting support@adhyayanapp.in.

By registering with Adhyayan you expressly consent to our collection, processing, storage, and handling of your information as described in this Policy. All data processing takes place in India. If you reside outside India, your information will be transferred and processed in accordance with Indian data protection laws.

This policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification.
